Sustainability Ambassadors

Whether faculty, staff, or student, you can serve as Sustainability Ambassadors for you department, administrative unit, or student organization or living group. The ambassador network is a key component to achieving a sustainable KU because it serves as a major pathway for generating new ideas, establishing partnerships, and sharing information about sustainable research and practices with the campus community. Ambassadors meet a minimum of twice yearly to discuss issues that are important to our campus and report back to the unit they represent. More specifically, ambassadors:
  • represent CFS and its activities to a designated group of peers and/or colleagues
  • provide feedback to CFS from these groups
  • assist CFS in promoting any adopted programs
  • provides information and cooperation across designated groups

Ambassadors have the opportunity to:
  • network across campus
  • shape the agenda of CFS
  • shape the campus and workplace environment
  • provide a meaningful service to the University
  • receive regular updates on CFS program activities, grant opportunities, etc.

As an ambassador to the Center for sustainability, you will be expected to:
  • Commit to a three-year term of service (2 years for students)
  • Attend 1-2 meetings per semester
  • Disseminate information about CFS activities to colleagues and peers
