Sustainability Leadership Awards
2008 Award Winners: Stephen Goddard, Anna Hoard, and Sara Vancil
Recipients are selected based on the the following qualities:
Students
- Promotes sustainability through research or other student-initiated projects
- Inspires fellow students and others in the campus community to live more responsibly
- Leadership in a project or organizations that has made a significant contribution to environmental protection and/or social justice
- Outstanding action, contribution, and leadership in supporting sustainability at KU
Faculty
- Creates connections with the community through research or student projects
- Encourages student involvement in research or projects that address sustainability
- Creates a work environment that incorporates sustainability (e.g. waste reduction, recycling, energy conservation, etc.)
- Outstanding action, contribution, and leadership in supporting sustainability at KU
Staff
- Creates a work environment that incorporates sustainability (e.g. waste reduction, recycling, energy conservation, etc.)
- Inspires co-workers and others in the campus community to participate in sustainable behaviors
- Significantly impacts the local community through volunteer opportunities addressing environmental and/or social issues
- Outstanding action, contribution, and leadership in supporting sustainability at KU
Program/Project
- Contributes to the advancement of sustainability on campus and/or in the local community
- Exemplifies collaborative efforts among campus departments, disciplines, and/or community partners
