The Center for Sustainability promotes a culture of sustainability at the University of Kansas in order to protect natural ecosystems, create economic prosperity and treat all people with equality and respect. The Center works across campus to support sustainable practices in operations, education, research, and campus life. We do this by:

  • Working with student organizations to promote sustainability initiatives on campus
  • Assisting campus departments in their efforts to adopt sustainable practices in the workplace
  • Supporting service-learning opportunities related to sustainability
  • Encouraging development of interdisciplinary research teams that address issues of sustainability
  • Promoting efforts throughout campus that are helping create
    a more sustainable future

We are constantly seeking input and involvement from the campus community. If you are involved in sustainability-related teaching or research or would like to participate in building a more sustainable future for KU, please contact us!
