REDUCE ENERGY USE

  • Turn off electronics after use
  • Unplug chargers after use
  • Walk, bike or ride the bus
  • Replace regular light bulbs with complact fluorescent light bulbs
  • Turn off lights and use natural lighting
  • Buy local produce and products
  • Turn heat or AC down when nobody is home
  • On hot days close blinds to keep the heat out

REDUCE WATER USE

  • Take shorter showers
  • Turn water off while brushing teeth
  • Set appropriate load size for laundry
  • Use garbage disposal sparingly
  • Keep a pitcher of water in your refridgerator for cold water
  • Turn water off while scrubbing dishes
  • Use the same glass all day

REDUCE WASTE

  • Use resuable water bottles and mugs
  • Take reusable bags shopping
  • Use a cloth napkin and save 350 paper napkins a year
  • Use digital files to reduce paper use
  • When printing, reduce font size, spacing and margins to save paper
  • Buy and sell used items at thrift stores or online at Freecylce and Craigslists
  • Buy recycled items
