Student Success Technology Services
Student Success Technology Services is working towards reducing KU's impact on the environment. In an effort to continue their conservation efforts in Student Success, Student Success Technology Services has implemented a policy for the conservation of technological resources with the support of the Office of the Vice Provost for Student Success. The policy and additional information is available in full on their website, at:
http://www.ssts.ku.edu/~ssts/knowledgebase/conservation.shtml
In addition, Student Success Technology Services has designed this policy to be in compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency's Low Carbon IT Campaign, and is in the process of receiving government
accreditation for all of Student Success for their outstanding energy savings. For more information read the EPA press release on the Low Carbon IT Campaign launch.
Additional current and planned efforts for Student Success Technology Services include:
- Recycle bins for non-confidential paper.
- Shred-It bins that are shredded and then recycled.
- Duplex printing of meeting agendas.
- Education about and implementation of the Power Policy.
- Turning off our printers at the end of the day, keeping the lights off in the break room, and turning off lights in unoccupied offices.
- Rechargeable batteries for the wireless mice that are checked out to users.
