Campus Sustainability Plan

The Center for Sustainability coordinated development of the Campus Sustainability Plan, Building Sustainable Traditions, which was released in October 2011. We are now working with campus departments to implement components of the plan.

STARS

Sustainability Tracking, Assessment, and Rating System (STARS) is an evaluation of sustainability in operations, finance and administration, and research and education.

Rain Garden

Students from multiple disciplines worked together to develop the rain garden in 2009. Today, it is 5,200 square feet and is home to 2,500 native plants from up to 18 different species.

Climate Action Plan

With the combined efforts of students and CFS staff, CAP offers a comprehensive inventory of the factors that contribute to KU's greenhouse gas emissions & provides recommendations. It serves as a strong starting point for reducing KU's impact.
