Green Office Recognition Program

Green Office Emblem
The KU Center for Sustainability Green Office program recognizes campus departments and offices that are making an effort to reduce environmental impacts and create a more sustainable workplace. Participants in the program must complete an application that identifies specific actions their offices are taking. The list includes strategies for cutting energy consumption, reducing waste and making environmentally preferable purchases. Each action is assigned a point value, and an applicant's total score determines the overall level of achievement. Level 3 Green Offices reach the highest level of recognition, however offices that achieve any level of recognition are highlighted during Earth Day activities. Offices that recieve the award may also display the Green Office emblem in their offices, on their website, and office publications.

Application Process

Offices that wish to be considered for 2012 recognition should notify the Center for Sustainability by November 30, 2011 and download an application below. Participants will have until March 15, 2012 to adopt any additional practices and submit the completed application. All applications must be submitted by email by clicking the "Submit by Email" button at the top of the top of the application. Offices must also assign a Sustainability Ambassador in order to participate in the program.
